Because of the continuing Covid-19 public health emergency, it is not advisable for the 8th Congressional District Democratic Committee to hold an in-person Convention. Based on guidance by the Central Committee of the Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA), the 8th Congressional District Democratic Committee will hold a virtual convention similar in format and voting procedure to the 2020 Democratic State Convention. The format for seeking to be a delegate or guest to the convention, for filing as candidate for becoming a Member of the 8th Congressional Committee Democratic Committee (and, therefore, a Member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Party of Virginia) will be administered by DPVA, and the voting procedure for the 8th CDDC convention will be administered by DPVA. Please note, as spelled out in the call, that there are separate and distinct links to filing for (a) Convention Delegate, (b) Convention Observer and (c) Candidate for Membership on the 8th District Democratic Committee and, therefore, Central Committee of the Democratic Party of Virginia.
