Washington Post Endorses Filler-Corn and Evans

Today the Washington Post endorsed Democrats Eileen Filler-Corn (41st House seat) and Sandy Evans (Mason District School Board) for next Tuesday’s Special Elections (March 2nd, polls open 6:00 am to 7:00 pm).
Ms. Filler-Corn (www.EileenForDelegate.com), who worked as a liaison to Capitol Hill for former governors Mark R. Warner and Timothy M. Kaine, would be the more effective delegate. She has a much more fluent grasp of Virginia issues.
Ms. Evans (www.Evans4SB.org) has more experience and better ideas … a consistent track record of work on school issues … spent years scrutinizing the school budget [and] is specific in where she would cut and how much she would save.

DPVA Quarterly Meetings Postponed
February 3, 2010 | Comments Off
The Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) State Steering Committee and State Central Committee meetings scheduled for February 5-6 have been postponed due to inclement weather coming our way starting Friday. The meetings will be rescheduled for March 19-20. Please save the date for this important weekend, because it will also be the Jefferson Jackson Weekend. This news was to be announced at the meetings this weekend, but due to the postponement, DPVA Staff and Chairman Cranwell wanted you to know well in advance. More details about ticketing, programming, and trainings will be coming soon, but please save the weekend and alert your local committee members and other interested parties.
For those of you who have reserved hotel rooms already, you need to call the Marriott at 804-643-3400 to either cancel or reschedule. If you do not notify the hotel of a change, then you will be billed for Friday night.
